Q. What type of patients can come to the Hospice Care Center?

We accept hospice patients in partnership with Hospice of Chattanooga and Hearth Hospice that has uncontrolled symptoms, such as pain, respiratory distress, agitation, etc.

Q. How long can a patient stay at the Hospice Care Center?

We are a short-term facility for symptom management. Once the symptoms are under control, the patient will be changed to a routine status and will need to discharge from the Hospice Care Center. Our social worker can assist the family and patient with their discharge arrangements.

Q. Where do I park?

When visiting, first drive under the porte-cochère and our guard will provide a parking gate pass. You will then drive over and enter the parking lot directly across from the Care Center.

Q. What are your visitation hours?

We are open 24/7 and so is our visitation.

Q. Are children allowed to visit?

Yes, children are allowed with an adult. We do not have an age limit.

Q. Can someone spend the night with the patient?

Yes. We welcome family to spend the night with the patient. There is a couch and a recliner in each private patient room.

Q. Can the patient’s pet come to visit?

Yes. We will need proof of an updated shot record, pet does not bite staff, and must remain on a leash.

Q. Is there a place for food?

There are a few options; the Siskin cafeteria is available from 8 AM – 1:30 PM, there are also eateries across the street within Erlanger Hospital, and food delivery services.

Q. What happens if my loved one passes away, and a funeral home has not been selected?

Our social worker can assist with providing a list of funeral homes.

Q. How do I obtain the death certificate?

The funeral home of choice will have the death certificate within 2-4 weeks.
